You Help Palai Stay Brave

Palai has been sick since he was 3 months old. His body can’t produce proteins he needs to carry oxygen from his lungs. He’s also prone to illness and infections because he has a weakened immune system.

He stays at Ronald McDonald House New York so he can receive treatment at the hospital nearby. He gets a blood transfusion every month.

Palai has to be very brave to battle illness so far from home. He says getting a bone marrow transplant was the bravest thing he’s ever done.

“It was very, very, very, very, very painful,” he says.

One thing that helps him feel brave is having his mom, Snigdhabala, by his side. Thanks to your generous gifts, they’re able to stay together in a special transplant suite designed for kids like Palai with compromised immune systems. There, Palai and his mom have their own kitchen, washer, dryer, and of course their own comfy beds.

It hasn’t been easy, his mom admits, but you give them a place where they can relax and focus on staying strong. She says, “It was really a depressing time. But after coming home to the House, I would just relax. I sleep!”

Never doubt the incredible impact you’re making. You give families the strength to face another day. Thank you!
