Anastasia was diagnosed with a brain tumor when she was 8 months old. She underwent treatment near her family’s home in Niagara Falls … with no success.
Her mom, Lenee, searched for options. She found a hospital that could help, but it was hours away in New York City. Lenee booked a hotel room near the hospital. The room cost $400 — for one night.
Two years later, Anastasia is still fighting cancer. But now, thanks to you, she and Lenee stay right by the hospital at Ronald McDonald House New York. Lenee says that without your help, “Anastasia wouldn’t be here anymore. There’s no way we could get her to the hospital.”
On top of that, the House helps Lenee find the strength and support she needs to keep fighting. That caught her by surprise.
“At first, I didn’t talk to anybody,” Lenee admits. “I came here in complete shock. I just wanted to be by myself.”
But as time went on, Lenee formed close bonds with the staff and other families. Soon, she felt like they were part of her family.
“That’s when I realized, I don’t have support like this anywhere else,” Lenee says.
Thank you for helping Anastasia stay near the treatment she needs to live!
