Patient Navigator, Summer AmeriCorps

The Public Health AmeriCorps program at Ronald McDonald House New York (RMH-NY) is seeking Patient Navigators to build the infrastructure needed for RMH-NY to advance health equity outcomes for underserved medically complex children and their families. This is a summer opportunity through Public Health AmeriCorps, consisting of 450 total hours, approximately 32 hours per week for 14 weeks, with a stipend of $7,534.80 for the full term of service. All hours must be completed by September 30, 2025. Patient Navigators will support the implementation of the New York State Medicaid Waiver by conducting screenings, facilitating referrals, and coordinating care for high-risk pediatric patients and their families. They will work in close collaboration with hospital partners, Social Care Networks (SCNs), and community-based organizations to ensure families are connected to services that address Social Determinants of Health (SDoH), with a focus on improving health equity outcomes.

Family Room Associate – Kings

The Family Room Associate supports the NYC Health/Hospitals Kings Family Room in Brooklyn for the Ronald McDonald House New York (RMH-NY). The Family Room Coordinator serves as a key component of the Programs team to advance the organization’s mission to serve and increase community knowledge and engagement.

Compliance Officer

The Compliance Officer (CO) is responsible for overseeing and monitoring the implementation and effectiveness of Ronald McDonald House of New York’s Compliance Program (“Program”), including developing and facilitating the delivery of training strategies. This role functions as an independent and objective role that reviews and evaluates compliance issues and concerns throughout the organization and monitors systems and processes in place to promote compliance with laws, regulations, and company policies and procedures, including the Code of Conduct. The CO shall report on the Program directly to the Chief Strategy, Partnership and Branding Officer and the Compliance Committee, with access to the Board of Directors, as appropriate. The CO will serve as an ambassador throughout RMH-NY to provide guidance to employees regarding the Company’s values and facilitate employees acting with integrity in their roles.

Patient Navigator through AmeriCorps

The Public Health AmeriCorps program at Ronald McDonald House New York (RMH-NY) is seeking full-time or part-time Patient Navigators to build the infrastructure needed for RMH-NY to advance health equity outcomes for underserved medically complex children and their families. Patient Navigators will perform a full year of service, assisting RMH-NY in expanding access to wraparound services to address Social Determinants of Health (SDoH) for our target population by conducting and establishing: (1) a social risk assessment to identify SDoH impacting target communities; (2) a market analysis of existing community services to address SDoH; and (3) a referral network with community-based organizations in target communities.

The Community Health Worker (CHW) plays a crucial role in ensuring that patients receive comprehensive and coordinated care by addressing social determinants of health and connecting them with critical support services. CHWs work with patients, healthcare providers, and community organizations to facilitate care navigation, resource linkage, and service coordination to improve overall well-being.

Volunteer Associate Temp

The Volunteer Associate is responsible for supporting and coordinating signature Volunteer programs and activities to support the mission of Ronald McDonald House New York. The Volunteer Associate works with individual volunteers as well as corporate and community groups in coordination with the needs and operations of the House.

Calling all AmeriCorps Service Members

Ronald McDonald House New York (RMH-NY) Public Health AmeriCorps is a workforce development program building infrastructure to advance health equity outcomes for underserved children and their families. Members perform a full year of service for RMH-NY’s targeted population across all five boroughs in NYC public and safety-net hospitals. 

Opportunity

  • Assist underserved communities by improving RMH-NY’s delivery of services 
  • Conduct local surveys, market research and more to determine Social Determinants of Health
  • Work with Family Support team to engage with patients and caregivers
