MANHATTAN, New York (WABC) -- Some former pro hockey players took to the ice Tuesday night to help raise money for kids fighting cancer, in a lesson that goes far beyond skating and playing hockey.

Ronald McDonald House New York is a home away from home that offers compassionate care for children with pediatric illnesses and other life-threatening diseases.
Skate With the Greats is an annual fundraiser that Rod Gilbert started 30 years ago that has raised millions and millions of dollars for the kids and families at Ronald McDonald House New York over the years.
