Maxwell Shopkorn and Holden Lipton invite you to Ronald McDonald House New York’s 1st Annual Youth Advisory Council Dinner. The Youth Advisory Council brings together high school students from the Tri-State area who are looking for an impactful way to get involved in their community, by giving back to families staying at Ronald McDonald House New York. Maxwell and Holden, the YAC’s Co-Fundraising Chairs have organized this dinner as their 2020 project to help fund and support programing which allows kids to be kids first and kids with cancer second. It costs RMH-NY $315 per night to house a family, but they only ask families to contribute $35 a night, and have never turned anyone away for being unable to pay. This is only possible because of their amazing community and generous people support their mission of Keeping Families Close.

The evening will be a special dinner at Bobby Van’s Steakhouse geared towards families and adults alike. There will be a fantastic meal as well as a silent and live auction. The event will begin at 6:00 PM. Online donations to support the house are welcome as well. We encourage our friends and families to contribute and sell tickets for this 1st Annual Youth Advisory Council Dinner!

“After my family went through the experience of my brother being diagnosed with, treated for, and beating cancer, I knew that I wanted the chance to provide comfort to families who were going through similar situations. I was inspired by the volunteers at Memorial Sloan Kettering that kept my brother active, engaged, and joyful throughout his treatment. Sitting on the Youth Advisory Council and volunteering at the Ronald McDonald House NYC gives me the opportunity to provide families with a comfortable and welcoming home while maintaining the patient’s happiness. Helping these families brings me endless amounts of gratification and I have the Ronald McDonald House to thank for creating this wonderful place”
– Holden Lipton, Youth Ambassador, Co Fundraising Chair for YAC

“Working with the Ronald McDonald House of New York is amazing because I get to see where my efforts go and who I‘m helping. I wanted to do this event because I have seen my parents’ efforts in events like this one help the House and help the families. The Families are able to stay together and have the support they need during this tough time in their lives. I really wanted to host an event where I can try to help the families and RMH-NY.”
- Maxwell Shopkorn, Youth Ambassador, Co Fundraising Chair for the YAC
