Teenage Chef Joshua Small's House Fundraiser Highlighted on CBS News New York

Joshua Small is 14 years old and has a passion for cooking. His love for cooking and innate entrepreneurial skills has led him to begin his very own catering business in the Catskills called Josh Kid Catering.

Ronald McDonald House New York met Josh through a fundraiser that he started in partnership with Chez les Frenchies owners Michele and Aksana, a little Upper East Side eatery known for their delicious croissants.

Two years ago, a child staying in the House had completely lost their appetite for food of all kinds. The parents struggled to get the child to eat anything until they tried the croissants and croissant sandwiches from Chez les Frenchies

At the time, Joshua's school was very close to the restaurant and he frequented the establishment, befriending Michele and Aksana through their shared love of all things food.  When everyone heard about the child at RMH-NY who loved the croissants, they all decided to work together and create a fundraiser for Ronald McDonald House New York.

For two years now, Joshua has cooked is yummy lasagna and Michele and Aksana sell the dish in their restaurant for the week. All of the proceeds from the sales have been donated to Ronald McDonald House New York to fund its mission to provide a strong, compassionate circle of support around families of kids with pediatric cancer and other serious diseases both through our House on East 73rd street and throughout the five boroughs of New York City through our Family Rooms, Hospitality Carts, and outreach programs.

Joshua Small has raised $2,100 for the House with his chef skills in the last two years.

Above, you can watch Joshua and House Marketing and Communications Coordinator Muniba Ahmed on the morning show on CBS News New York. Joshua was recognized for his incredible talent and his desire to put that cooking talent to use helping others.

Thank you, Joshua, for your help in serving the families that stay at Ronald McDonald House New York.   We could not do all that we do without the help of wonderful and talented humans like you.

Also, a big thanks to Michele and Aksana at Chez les Frenchies. If you want great original French cuisine, look no further. Chez les Frenchies has everything you need.

Thank you to CBS New New York for highlighting the House and Josh's amazing efforts.
